I have a bunch of catching up to do from this weekend, but first I have to tell you all about the amazing dinner we had tonight.
First of all, my tomatoes finally got red! So we had those sliced and drizzled with balsamic reduction. It tasted like summer on a day that felt like fall. Perfect.
I sauteed beets (golden and red), carrots and a couple potatoes from the garden with herbs and chicken stock until they were tender and the beets had turned everything a lovely pink.
We had a super busy day today, but on our way home we stopped by Rain Shadow Meats on Capitol Hill and got some amazing dry aged steaks. Phil grilled them perfectly and then I topped them with some herb butter. Indulgent, and totally worth it.
